Civil War Veterans

When the Grand Ary of the Republic convention was here in 1925 the hotels were crowded and men were put up at the engine houses. This is a picture of the fire fighters in an engine house in Grand Rapids with their G.A.R. guests. The elderly veterans are seated at a long table with fresh place settings, pitchers and plates of bread. The firemen are standing behind them, wearing their fire fighter’s work shirts with bow ties.
