Rome; Lamps; Clay (unfired)

Notes:
Pinkish buff micaceous clay; unglazed. Nozzle with straight end and concave sides. On neck, two moulded heads of long-necked bird addorsed. V-shaped groove with two small stamped circles at angle and one at either end separates plain rim and plain concave discus. Pierced vertical handle rises from top opposite nozzle and at right angles to axis of lamp. Plain base follows outline of lamp. Straight groove across beneath nozzle. Nozzle slightly blackened about wick hole.
