Karanis; Textiles; Wool

Notes:
Fragment of yellowed woven wool fabric with a 1.5 cm wide blue/grey weft band 2 cm from one edge. Between the weft band and this edge there are two countered weft-twining rows. There are two more weft-twining rows 0.3 cm and 3 cm from the band on the other side. The weft-twining loops pass over three warps each. Near the center of the fragment from the furthest weft-twining row to the weft band, there are four multi-warp ribs. There are up to five warps in each rib. At least 6 cm of the yellow weft is s-spun. Most of the rest of the weft is z-spun.
