Saline Mercantile Company Grain Elevator in 1920
- Notes:
- A gravel hauling bee at the Saline Mercantile Company grain elevator on N. Ann Arbor Street. The lower part of the grain elevator still exists as the Pineapple House, but the mill has been razed. People in photograph: from left, Beatrice, Ilene and father George Bondie, Joe Bondie's father. Woman in white dress is Laura Kaiser (bookkeeper), man in dark pants is Julius Bredernits (manager), and man on wagon in the center is Albert Maliock. Others unknown.; Grain elevator ran from 1917 to 1973. It was started by Cool Bros. Ground feed, sold farm products and bought grain for shipment by rail.
