Rome; Lamps; Clay (unfired); Slip

Notes:

Pinkish buff micaceous clay with discolored gray slip. Right half of lamp. Nozzle end rounding. Plain sloping rim divides at nozzle and ends in volute. Grooved circle between rim and discus. Small air hole in neck. In center of discus is crater from which two doves are drinking. Palm branches in background of lower right. Ring handle, two grooves on both upper and lower half. Base ring set off by grooves. Inscription in raised letters. Slip discolored by earth in which it was buried. Nozzle end blackened.
