YMCA Recreation Chests for German POWs in Britain and France

Notes:
The YMCA sent these recreation chests to Arbeitskommandos working away from their parent camps. Prisoners of war assigned labor detachments lost their access to regular Association programs and the Red Triangle sent them these chests to help them pass their free time. Each chest contained a selection of books and reading materials, games, and musical instruments. The Association sent these particular recretation chests to German prisoners of war working in England and France.
