The view looks northwestward (upstream) along the Rouge River and shows the old railroad swing bridge on the left as well as the new single leaf Strauss trunnion bascule bridge on the right. The lift span portion of the new bridge is raised and is presently under construction. The new 2-story brick building for the bridge operator can be seen on the far right side of the photo.
