Rome; Lamps; Clay (unfired); Slip

Notes:

Pale buff clay with badly worn red slip. Nozzle slightly blackened. Heart-shaped nozzle extending part way across plain rim. Raised band set off by grooves about discus. On discus, dog attacking a long legged bird whose wings are spread ( ostrich?). Molded handle, two grooves on upper half. Vase ring set off by grooves. Incised stamp, stamped circle above and below signature.
