Detroit Hotel Fire Damage

Description:
The remains of the Detroit Hotel after a devastating fire on February 22, 1927. After the Rochester Pavilion Hotel burned down in 1877, this site sat vacate for nearly 10 years. In 1888, R.O. Smith built this two-story brick hotel, called the Sidney House. In 1895, William Bowman renamed the business the Detroit Hotel, which it remained until it was destroyed by fire in 1927.
