Rome; Lamps; Clay (unfired); Slip

Notes:

Pinkish-buff micaceous clay with fine slip. Nozzle restored, original volutes at base remain. Very narrow rim or molding about top of lamp, is separated from concave discus by groove. Narrow band of oblique incised lines about edge of discus. Conch shell pattern fills center. No handle. Crescent-shaped projection on either side of lamp, decorated with incised lines. Broad base ring within which are incised five groups of two concentric circles.
