- Sepia-toned photo of two men in conductor's uniforms, likely Detroit United Railway workers, collecting funds to support the Boston street car strike along the sidewalk on the west side of Woodward Avenue between Atwater Street and the riverfront. The men hold tambourines and stand beside a small cart bearing a sign that reads, "Help the Striking Street Car Men of Boston, Mass." Several other people stand nearby including a boy who appears to be selling newspapers. H.D. Edwards and Company stands in the background.

The photo was taken from an elevated position above Grand Circus Park, possibly from the David Whitney Building, peering north along Woodward Avenue. Central United Methodist Church, a piano store, a sign company, H.R. Leonard Furniture Company, St. John's Episcopal Church, the Elliott-Taylor-Wolfenden Company, Childs Restaurant, the Grand Circus Theatre, and a drug store topped with a Pastora Ten Cent Cigar billboard.

Road construction is occurring in front of Brown's Drug Store on Woodward in the central right foreground. The Pontchartrain Hotel is visible in the background adjacent to the commercial block along Woodward. Commercial businesses include Misfit; Louis Sheneider; and The T.S. Sayl Company.

- Print. Sepia-toned photographic print taken from the southwest corner of Woodward Avenue and Jefferson Avenue, facing northwest. A horse and cart are inside the intersection at the lower right. Across Jefferson, on the west side of Woodward is a four story building occupied by A.C. McGraw and Company, Wholesale and Retail Boots and Shoes. Along the east side of Woodward, signs are posted for Aetna Insurance, a wholesale hat, cap, and fur store, another shoe store, a crockery store, D.B. Nichols and Company, and a carpet store. Faint impressions of several pedestrians who moved through the frame during the exposure are visible.

The elevated view looks southward along the east side of Woodward just south of Jefferson Avenue, and shows a busy street scene with many storefronts, pedestrians, automobiles, and streetcars. Business names include the Central Hotel, Schiappacasse & Co. Wholesale Fruits, and Hiram Marks Electric. Ship docks at the riverfront can be seen near the upper right corner of the photo.

- Black and white print negative taken of a sepia-toned cabinet card depicting the West Side Brewery Company's Beer Restaurant. The Gebhard Paper Company is next door. Handwritten note on verso identifies this as being on the south east corner of Woodbridge Street and Woodward Avenue, taken on April 23, 1897.

- Black and white photographic print depicting the Godfrey Block and several adjacent storefronts on Woodward Avenue, near Gratiot Avenue. The visible businesses along this row include John Harvey, Drugs and Medicine; D.M. Ferry and Company; William C. House and Company; Pixley and Cleveland, Mattresses, Bedding, and Furniture; a sewing machine store; a book binder; Freedman and Brothers; and the Weber Furniture Company's Warehouse. A horse-drawn wagon and carriage are stopped along the sidewalk. "1870's" handwritten on verso, along with "M-1847-6" in pen and "Dept. Report & Info. Comm." stamped.

- Cabinet card bearing a circular sepia-toned image of L.L. Farnsworth's shoe store on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Michigan Avenue as taken from the south. A sign posted on the southern face of the building advertises, "boots, shoes, and rubbers." Signs for Marratt's photo studio, and J.L. Hudson's clothing visible on the sides of their respective buildings in the background. Streetcar tracks run along Michigan in the foreground, and numerous pedestrians are in view. The card has a burgundy border with a gold edge. A Kodak mark and a floral pattern are printed on the verso of the card.
