Sears Undertaking, Horton's Scotch Bakery, Jas N. Davie Harness, Wolff's Trunk Factory, a cigar and liquor store, and Detroit's Throat and Lung Institute. A freestanding sign for Howe's Sewing Machines is posted on the sidewalk on the east side. Grand Circus Park is visible in the background on the right. Streetcar rails, two horse-drawn wagons and several people are in view as well. "Mrs. Anna S. Randall, 103 Woodland, Detroit," and "Before 1888" also handwritten on verso.
