There were a number of Baileys in the 1898 Lansing City Directory, including the family of George Bailey at 410 Sycamore Street, around the corner from the Lawrences. Note on sleeve: "No. 27. The others are not identified, but likely the woman in white at the piano is Hattie and the man with beard and black tie standing by the door is Albert. This photograph was probably taken indoors at their home, 717 West Shiawassee Street. Note on sleeve: "No. 10. Lawrence Family. May 24th '98. 9 P.M. Flash light. Opr. Al. Hat, et. al."
