- Color postcard depicting people on a bridge over the Lily Pond on Belle Isle. Printed on verso: Lily Pond on Belle Isle. Detroit's principal recreation spot is an island in the Detroit river connecting with the city by a bridge, 8 feet less than half a mile in length. It comprises 702 acres, is over two miles long and boasts over 20 miles of fine macadam roadway which completely circles and frequently intersects it. A fine zoo, aquarium, horticultural building, swimming and skating pavilions, casino and boat livery are in connection. The city has expended over $1,500,000 on it since its purchase in 1879. Printed on verso: Washington Boulevard runs from Michigan Ave. to Grand Circus Park. The monument in foreground was donated by Daughters of the American Revolution in honor of General Macomb. Printed on verso: The Charlevoix Hotel.- Located at 45 Park street, is one of the many handsome and commodious hotels that Detroit boasts of. It was erected in 1906, is eleven stories in height and is divided into 100 apartments. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Jul 18, 1910.

The postcard shows a color photographic image of the front of the 4-story factory building with many workers walking on the street in the foreground. A park area with trees is visible in the right foreground area. The number, "1322," is printed in the lower left corner. The verso has a handwritten note in blue ink and a black ink postmark that shows "Hamtramck, Mich."

Printed on verso: the Aquarium and Horticultural Buildings on Belle Isle are among the most popular attraction on the island. In the Aquarium will be found all kinds of fresh wand salt water fish. The Commission brings the water direct from the ocean for the latter. In the Horticultural building are domestic and tropical plants and shrubbery, making it a veritable paradise.
