- Description:
- The Reo Motor Car Company Band at an unidentified park pavilion. On the back of the photograph: "This photograph appeared in the July 1922 issue of Metronome (a national publication devoted to bands) which said that 'The Reo Motor Car Co. band, under the directorship of Carl Hall Dewey, is a notable example of what may be accomplished along musical lines in an industrial organization.' The author was particularly impressed by the fact that each member of the band was also a skilled worker in the Reo factory. When Dewey took charge in 1916 there were 25 members; in 1922 there were 50 in concert formation and 68 when in marching order."
