- Print. Mounted sepia-toned photographic print depicting several buildings at the intersection of Monroe Street and Farmer Street, taken at street level. From left to right are the Henry Hotel, a four story building, the Office of the Detroit Opera House Orchestra (in the former St. Joseph's Lutheran Church or St. John's German Evangelical Church), a store advertising fruits and oysters, the Furniture Wareroom, a shoe store, and a row of two storied storefronts which includes a bar and Jno B. Musschel's Detroit Marble Works. A horse is hitched in front of the bar, and part of a carriage is visible across the street on the left edge of the frame. The matting is off-white cardstock with a scrollwork frame printed around the photo. "Monroe Ave." is handwritten in the matting's lower left corner, but several letters are torn off. "c.1872" handwritten on verso.

- Sepia-tone photo of the entrance to the Woodward Theatre in the National Clothing Systems building on the east side of Woodward Avenue, between Campus Martius and Gratiot Avenue, as taken from the west side of Woodward. A sign above the entrance advertises the film, "The Great Love." The storefront for L. Black Optician, is located to the south. An early automobile is parked in front of L. Black's, several pedestrians are on the sidewalk. A covered walkway has been set up along the sidewalk north of the theatre, suggesting construction on the Newcomb-Endicott Company building above.

- Black and white photo enlargement of a photo of the Grand Circus Theatre on the west side of Woodward Avenue north of Elizabeth Street, as taken from the east side of Woodward, facing west. Signs are posted around the entrance advertising the film "Old Dutch," and Keystone Cops shorts. The Bud Barker cafe is to left of the theater, and the Park Theatre is to the right. The photo is vignetted on its top edge. "1915," is handwritten on the verso.

- Cabinet card bearing a circular sepia-toned image of L.L. Farnsworth's shoe store on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Michigan Avenue as taken from the south. A sign posted on the southern face of the building advertises, "boots, shoes, and rubbers." Signs for Marratt's photo studio, and J.L. Hudson's clothing visible on the sides of their respective buildings in the background. Streetcar tracks run along Michigan in the foreground, and numerous pedestrians are in view. The card has a burgundy border with a gold edge. A Kodak mark and a floral pattern are printed on the verso of the card.

A horse carriage is parked at the lower left. Roofs and chimneys of other buildings, as well as ship masts and the Detroit River are visible in the distance beyond this row. One of the towers of Waterworks Park is in the upper left corner of the frame. "C.C. Brewe Com'l Photographer, 205 Griswold St. Detroit Mich." stamped on verso. - Color photographic postcard a night-time view of the repurposed three-story Second Empire house at 4470 Second Avenue. Mannequins wearing dresses are displayed in the first floor window for a clothing store within. A passage about the former home's new usage is printed on the verso: 4470 Second. Situated on land owned by Lewis Cass, former Michigan Governor, and adjacent to the West Canfield Historic District, and bordering Wayne State University, this colorful Victorian Mansion, built in 1883, now houses shops, apartments and offices, and is part of the Renaissance Movement in Detroit. Also printed on the verso are publishing and printing information, "Pub. & © Allen Strass - Yout Qualified Photographer - Detroit, Mich.", and "Made by Dexter Press, Inc., West Nyack, New York."

Adjoining was Baron & McBean, mantels, grates and tiles. A.T. Knowlson's next. Also pictured are the storefronts for C.M. Hayes and Company, Photographers, and Jewel Gas Ranges and Gas Heaters. A horse-drawn sleigh and a horse carriage are in the street.
