- This folded sheet of writing paper was from the personal stationery of Charles L. Freer. It is slightly yellowed and the sender's address, "33 Ferry Avenue," is printed at the top in black text. The paper also has a watermark that shows "Scribner's Vellum." The handwritten text is transcribed as follows: "Hon. W. C. Maybury, Mayor etc., My Dear Sir: In compliance with your courteous request, I have taken pleasure in writing a few lines on the "Possibilities of Detroit as a Manufacturing Center," and beg to hand you the same herewith enclosed. Your plans to entertain our friends of a century hence is excellent and I only regret that my little paper is not more worthy of the occasion. With every good wish and heartiest New Year greetings, I am, Faithfully yours, Charles L. Freer."

- Mounted black and white photo of the aerial apparatuses of the Detroit Fire Department's Ladder Companies No.1 and No.3 being used to fight a fire at the Goldberg Brothers' department store on the west side of Woodward Avenue between Grand River and Clifford Street, as viewed from across the street to the northeast. Firefighters work amid broken windows and display cases along the base of the building. A large clearance banner and a "Store for rent" sign are posted on the Grinnell Brothers' Music House next door to Goldberg Brothers. Clough and Warren Company, Pianos; Wood's Ladies Haus; and the William B. Elliott Company are also posted along the block. Several bystanders are also in frame. The photo is mounted on black matte board, with a border relief around the image. "Fred G. Wright, Detroit, Mich. 115 Gratiot Ave. Phone MAIN 5488," is stamped on the verso. A lengthy handwritten note listing involved firefighters is also on the verso: May 10th 1908 Water Towers[?] in action at Goldberg fire Members of Co. May 10th in 1908 Wm. P. O'Brien, Lieut. J.M. - One architectural drawing entitled "Front Elevation [and] South Elevation." The drawing (Job 243) consists of red and black ink on linen and shows a front elevation view, side elevation view, and wall cross-section detail for a proposed 2-story, three family terrace apartment building. The work was being done for "Mrs. Bridget Stackpole" of Detroit, Michigan, at a site "located on the west side of Humboldt Ave. between Perry and Butternut Sts." This drawing, shown at a scale of 1/4 inch = 1 foot, was part of a set of five sheets that were prepared by "J. Lawson Miller, Architect." Some blue, green, and yellow pencil shading has been added on the verso to highlight various architectural details.

- One postcard entitled "WILPEN." The postcard shows a sepia-toned photographic image of the freighter WILPEN from the sideview operating in the water, as taken by someone from the studio of Louis James Pesha. The postage stamp on the verso is dated August 30, 1914.

- Bank note No. 788 from "The Detroit City Bank" for $5.00 and dated December 20, 1837. The note is printed in black ink on thin linen paper and shows the Roman numeral, "V," in all four corners. An engraved view of the Detroit shoreline is shown at the top of the note. The note is signed "F. H. Harris, Cashier," on the lower left edge and is signed "H. M. Campbell, President," on the lower right edge. The reverse is blank except for handwritten text that shows, "Presented to Emma S. Hampton, President Fairbanks Corps No. 17. December 1884 by James W. Romeyn."
