- Prospectus entitled "The Detroit and Deadwood Gold Mining Co. - Two Bit Basin, Black Hills, S.D." The prospectus has a soft cover that is gray/tan in color with black and gold text. The 18 inside pages are glossy white paper with black text and several black and white pictures. Company officers are shown on page 1 as: Malcolm McCallum, Chicago, Illinois, President; Albert F. Peck, Detroit, Michigan, Vice-President; Robert H. Murray, Detroit, Michigan, Secretary; and Frank C. Andrews, Detroit, Michigan, Treasurer. The company general offices were located in Detroit, Michigan, and a branch office was located in Deadwood, South Dakota. A location map of the mine and adjacent land parcels is pasted on the inside front cover of the prospectus.

- Sketch, "Front Elevation of Mansion House for T.H. Eaton Esq. Detroit," drawn in 1842. The sketch, done in black lines on tan paper, shows the facade of the mansion house described, including the doorway, four ground level windows, three second story windows with balconies, and a portion of a side entrance to the right. The house was designed by Otis & Brown Architects, Buffalo, N.Y. Handwritten text on the bottom right reads "sketch made sometime between 1842 and 1852. built in [piece missing]." Mounted on linen.

- May-June 1908 issue of The Student, a booklet-format student publication from Detroit Central High School. The issue contains essays, poetry, artwork, photographs of the staff and of a track and field meet in Ann Arbor, and numerous advertisements. The booklet is bound in a brown paper cover with a color illustration of a boy in a White and Blue Central High School sweater seated in front of a pile of books, on the cover. The back cover has a flap to protect the fore edge.

- One copyright registration, "No. 6348 I," dated May 25, 1878, issued by the "Library of Congress, Copyright Office, Washington." The registration form is printed in black text on white paper and includes blank lines that have been completed in handwritten black ink text. It indicates that a copyright was issued to the Richmond & Backus Company of Detroit for a "Book or Form" which is described in more specific detail in handwritten text. The registration form was signed in the lower right corner by "A. R. [Ainsworth Rand] Spofford, Librarian of Congress." An oval-shaped embossed seal of the Copyright Office is located in the upper left corner of the form.

- Booklet from the Detroit Free Press, containing the carriers' address from New Year's, 1877. The features a header reading "A Happy [1877] New Year" at the top, "Detroit Free Press" in the center, and "Carriers' Address." at the bottom, all surrounded by a decorative blue and red border. The first page reads "New Year's Greeting of The Detroit Free Press Carrier Boys. 1877." The following seven pages contain the text of the address. The address is written as a poem, and each page features a stanza, with each stanza surrounded by a decorative black border. The booklet is bound by string.
