- Description:
- Colored lithograph published by N. Currier in 1945 titled "Death of Genl Andrew Jackson: President of the United States from 1829 to 1837." The drawing depicts President Jackson lying on his deathbed, with two women and two men standing at his bedside. The man and woman in the center of the image are standing beside the bed looking at President Jackson, while the man depicted on the left side of the drawing is sitting in a chair with a hand covering his face and the woman on the right side is kneeling next to the bed in prayer. The text underneath the lower left border of the drawing reads "Lith. & Pub. by N. Currier." The text underneath the lower right border of the drawing reads "2 Spruce St. N.Y." The text underneath the border of the drawing in the center reads "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1845 by N. Currier in the Clerk's office of the District Court of the Southern District of N.Y." At the bottom of the lithograph is a quote from Andrew Jackson reading "I am in the hand's of a merciful god._ I have full confidence in his goodness and mercy._ The Bible is true._"
