- Description:
- Woman's cream wool crepe, one piece dress. The garment has a V-neck of ecru net, long fitted sleeves, a waistline that is slightly above normal, and a pleated but narrow skirt. It also has an ecru lace collar, and a bodice pleat that extends from center front over the shoulder, and down the center back side. A cross over closure on the center front side is trimmed with a band of multicolored embroidery at thewaist is edged with pink grosgrain ribbon. A peplum of crepe and multicolored embroidery starts at the hip and extends around the back and ends at the other hip.

- Two piece cherry red silk crepe day dress with bandeau collar and soft sash ties at the side. The skirt is pleated at the sides and the dress is trimmed in black and multi-colored flower embroidery. This garment was owned by Matilda Dodge Wilson (October 19, 1883 – September 19, 1967),who was the wife of John Francis Dodge (October 25, 1864 – January 14, 1920), co-founder of the Dodge Motor Car Company in Detroit, Michigan.

- Two piece set consisting of an overcoat and knee length, short sleeve dress, taupe in color. Coat is double breasted, lined, with straight flap pockets. Sheath style dress with kimono cap sleeve, front and back yokes, side seam pockets, and zipper closure in back. Circa 1960-1979.

- Blue dress of fine wool twill. Square, gathered neckline. Gathered cap sleeves. Gathered and pleated bodice lined with cotton. Applied waistband. Box-pleated skirt. Hand-embroidered flowered vine motif around sleeves, waist, hem. Sleeve edging embroidered in the pieceand cut from cloth. Center-back closures of hammered wire hooks and threaded eyes. Hand-sewn. Appears to have been altered to fit fuller torso: bodice lining shows stitching removed to let out pleats, skirt changed from gathering to box pleating. This is a boy's or girl's dress of beautiful fine wool twill, probably used for parties and other special occasions. An example of fine hand-sewing, with an exquisitely sewn hem.

- This woman's black wool riding habit has a fitted jacket (a) with a stand-up collar and a cloth ruffle showing above the top. It has sloping shoulders, and long, tight sleeves. It buttons down the front, and is cut-away with a short tail in the back. The skirt (b) is very long and full, and is gathered at the waist in large pleats. It has a black cloth waistband. The black felt hat (c) has a round crown with a narrow visor in the front. It has a band of black grosgrain ribbon, and is lined with pinkish-red satin. Label (hat): 1862 Non Pareil, size 6 5/8.

- This women's ballgown of creamy white satin has a fitted bodice with jewel neckline and long sleeves. The skirt is gathered at the waist, and has a side seam pocket. There are large rhinestones and silver beads at the neckline and cuffs. There is a back zipper closure. Label: "DESIGNED BY SARMI, NEW YORK," and "BONWIT TELLER." Worn by Mrs. Helen Milliken at 1970 and 1974 inaugural balls, her husband was the governor of Michigan from 1969 to 1983. He had previously served as Michigan's Lieutenant Governor from 1965 to 1969 .

- This woman's afternoon dress of brown silk crepe has a fitted bodice with a deep waistline. There is a mock bow across the sheer brown yoke, and another bow around the drop waist with long ties hanging down the front. There is a back zipper, and the long sleeves have zippers at the cuffs. - This is the earliest child's dress in the Henry Ford collection. While it seems logical that it would close in back, the sleeves are set in in such a way as to indicate a front closure like other short or long gowns. The fabric may well be British. From the Mitchell family of rural New York State.
