Bearings and distances are also given along the fort property lines. A bar scale (1 inch = 100 feet) is shown in the lower right corner of the sheet along with a symbol legend. Small handwritten text near the lower right edge shows "J. M. Hilton, Q.M.G.O. [Quarter Master General Office]" along with the year, "1897."

The drawing consists of black ink on heavy tan paper and shows plan views of two decks, a starboard side interior profile view of the hull, and two cross-section views of the hull of the proposed passenger steamship (later named Darius Cole). Some areas of the drawing have been tinted with pale green ink. The sidewheel steamship was built by the Globe Shipbuilding Company of Cleveland, Ohio. The plan was drawn at a scale of 1/8 inch = 1 foot and is dated June, 1885.

The drawing consists of black ink on linen and shows a port side exterior profile view of the proposed wooden-hulled, propeller-driven, passenger steamships. The plan was prepared at a scale of 1/4 inch = 1 foot by Frank E. Kirby for the Detroit Dry Dock Company and is dated May, 1882. (Steamer numbers 59 and 60 were the Detroit Dry Dock hull numbers for the passenger steamships that were known as F.&P.M. No. 1 and F.&P.M. No. 2, respectively.)

These ships were built for the United States Shipping Board, Emergency Fleet Corporation (EFC).
