- Half-folded letter and form distributed by a committee appointed by the Board of Trustees of the Fire Department, and dated January 14, 1852, soliciting the public for works of art to be displayed in Firemen's Hall, opening February 2, 1852. The committee requests "paintings in oil or water," "drawings," "choice engravings and lithographs," "statuary and sculpture," "small specimens of mechanic arts," and "embroidery and needle work." The inner page contains a form where interested parties list available works of art, the artist who created them, and where the artist lived when creating them. The members of the committee are listed as James A. Van Dyke, George Foote, Robert E. Roberts, P.C. Higgins, Joseph J. Rhodes, B. Briody, Edmond A. Brush, Robert W. Kind, Lucretius H. Cobb, Stanley G. Wright, and W.A. Bacon. This copy was purportedly sent to Joseph Campau.
