- On June 25, 1946, the Firestones threw a fine party at the Ritz Hotel in New York in celebration of their silver (25th) wedding anniversary. Mrs. Firestone never looked thinner or younger than she did when she wore this sheath-like dress made by New York designer Carrie Munn.Born in Decatur, Illinois in 1897 Elizabeth Parke married Harvey S. Firestone Jr., son of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company founder Harvey S. Firestone, in 1921.Once described by a friend as, "the most luxurious woman in the history of luxury," Elizabeth Parke Firestone's clothing collection illustrates her impeccable taste in fashion.

- This woman's sleeveless tennis dress has a square neck and is made of a heavy, cream-color cotton fabric. It was made by Mrs. Robinson. The donors were daughters of tailor John C. Wettlaufer from whose shop the dress came.

- Description:
- Woman's dress in a fine red wool, trimmed with red velvet and white lace. The bodice, with a back closure, is draped and crosses in front like a loose jacket. It is edged with velvet that forms a rosette. A dicky of multi-colored beads with gold lace over red and turquoise. The oversleeves reach to the elbows, and wrist length undersleeves are of white lace. Cuffs of the beads similar to those on the dicky. The high waisted skirt flares slightly, and appears to open down the side, closes with rosettes.
