- This Residential Storage System, in the collection of the Public Museum of Grand Rapids, is part of the Eames Constract Storage (ECS) storage system which consists of 114 elements including a pull-down bed, a stationary bed, wire mesh drawers, door with mirror, door with wire mesh baskets, wood panels, divider panels, wood shelves, a light unit, and various accessory and hardware components.

The Eames Constract Storage (ECS) storage system was designed to support the study, storage, and sleeping activities of two or more students in a dormitory room, while occupying a minimum amount of square footage. Co-Struc is a system of containers, frames, carts, and rails; lightweight, washable, sanitizable, self-extinguishing, self-stacking, self-hanging for use in hospitals, laboratories and other health care facilities where these features are desirable. The system was developed by the Herman Miller Research Corporation, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The parts are modular and inter-changeable, configured without the use of special tools. Materials include injection molded polyphenyline oxide, compression molded sheet molding compound, extruded polyvinyl chloride, sheet steel with baked enamel finish, injection molded polypropelene, vacuum formed polyallomer, injection molded polycarbonate, steel, and cast aluminum. - This unit, in the collection of The Henry Ford, has a white plastic laminate top with walnut edge and a black wood frame under work surface. The front has 2 black metal drawers with the dexter side encased in red, white, blue and gray micarta panels. The frame consists of a chromed metal with H-leg and foot crossbar that sits on metal glides.
According to the 1951 Herman Miller, Inc. Trade Catalog: "This desk is ideal for the home and school dormitories. Additional uses for the E. S. U. desks were as tables for sewing or receptionist desk. "

- This Storage Unit, in the collection of The Henry Ford, has a black laminate over plywood top. The drawer fronts match the top and are two light-tone dimpled wood panels with open black laminate over a plywood shelf. The frame consists of six zinc metal legs and crossbars to match. The sides are red laminated micarta. The top shelf is completely open, whereas the bottom shelf is enclosed with solid panels and sliding doors to provide protected accessible space.
