1. Women's beige wool coat from the 1940s

Description:
Woman's beige wool coat with a wide shawl collar and cuffs of brown mouton fur. The coat has a single gray button at the waist, and two large darts in the back. It has a peach satin lining, with a design of bows stitched in grey silk. Belonged to Blanche Davidson, donor's aunt (Betty Conzelman). Label in back: Sax Kay Detroit.

2. Women's beige, linen-look spring coat from the 1950s or 60s

Description:
Woman's beige, linen-look spring coat (possibly a raw silk). The coat has a 4.5" flat collar, raglan sleeves, and a three button and one snap front closure. It also has two large patch pockets, and a beige silk lining. Labels: Claire Pearone, Paris-Detroit, and Vera Maxwell Original. This garment Berlou Moth Proofed, five year guarantee.

3. Women's golden brown plush cloak from the nineteenth century

Description:
This woman's golden brown plush cloak was purchased at Newcomb Endicott. The ankle length coat is single breasted with twelve mother of pearl buttons. Tight sleeves with slight puff at shoulder, rounded stand-up collar edged with rust color ostrich feathers. Shaped for bustle in the back, and slit from hem to waist. Yoke, sleeves, front, slit, and hem are decorated with black braid in an elaborate pattern. Lined with brown satin. Worn by donor's cousin, Augusta D. Von Schrader, a Detroit schoolteacher. Fur Trim. Au Bon Marche.

4. Women's silk plush evening coat from the nineteenth century

Description:
This woman's silk plush evening coat has sleeves of heavy grosgrain silk gathered into large puff on top. The round fur (probably fox)stand-up collar is two and a half inches in height. The fur continues down the right side to the hips. There are four large buttons in the back, and another four are in the front. The coat fastens with hooks and eyes, and has a dark brown silk twill lining. The garment was bought at Taylor-Woolfenden, Detroit. Worn by Jane Lynn Patterson, whose husband was an undertaker. Original cost was $150.00.

Description:
Woman's red velvet evening coat lined with white satin. It is a wrap-around "kimono" style with long dolman sleeves. The lapel and cuffs are trimmed with pink embroidery having metallic threads. Label: J. Hock, Detroit.

6. Black crepe women's coat from the early twentieth century

Description:
This black crepe, loose-fitting women's coat has a very wide black Persian lamb fur collar. The long, loose sleeves are heavily embroidered with flower and leaf patterns in rust, turquoise and gold metallic threads. The coat is fastened by one button at the center front and a snap at the throat. The lining is rust colored crepe. Label: "Importers, B. Siegel Co., Detroit, Mich."

Description:
Woman's winter coat of black novelty wool with Russian sable collar, and wide lapels. The coat is double breasted, has long narrow sleeves, and six black plastic disc buttons. One large patch pocket is on each side. The coat has a heavy ivory satin lining, and two mother-of-pearl buttons inside. Label: Traina Norell, N.Y., and Julie, Inc. Fisher Building Detroit.
