Obama talks about the presious night's presidential debate with Republican nominee Mitt Romney, calling Romney's economic plan a "sketchy deal" and a "one point plan." Obama criticizes the Republican platform then talks about the accomplishments of his administration and the improvement in the economy. He tells listeners they "can turn the clock back or continue to move forward."

- President Obama introduces his to-do list for Congress, a list of initiatives which he asserts will create jobs and help the middle class. Obama calls on Congress to take action on the list's first item by passing legislation that rewards companies who bring jobs back to American with lower taxes and pays for the tax breaks by eliminating tax incentives to companies which ship jobs overseas. Obama acknowledges the number of high-tech firms operating in upstate New York and declares that the private sector must create jobs. Obama speaks at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, University at Albany-SUNY.

- Michigan State University College of Music Professor Maria Cristina Fava delivers a talk entitled, "Drawing a Finer Point on 1930's Era Success: 'Pins and Needles' and the ILDWU's Lesson for the Theater Guild". Fava explains the relationship of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and the Theatrer Guild in the production of the Off-Broadway show "Pins and Needles". Fava describes how the production evolved from a variety show with a cast of unionized garment workers in their off time to the cast giving up their jobs to become full time actors with the success of the show. She provides reviews by theater critics and describes how the cast navigated the politics of the day. A question and answer session follows. Fava is introduced by Michigan State University Professor John P. Beck. Part of the "Our Daily Work/Our Daily Lives" Brown Bag series sponsored by the MSU School of Human Resources and Labor Relations and the MSU Museum.
