- A major theme in German propaganda was the Allied use of colonial troops to promote liberty and to save European civilization. The Germans highlighted the irony of the Allied policy as the British, French, and Russians used subjugated people to defend their liberty. These photographs portray nine French and British colonial soldiers waiting for the end of the war in the prison camp at Muenster-Rennbahn.

- POW's from seven countries pose in this photograph taken in the prison compound at Friedrichsfeld. These troops came from Belgium, Britain, France, French West Africa, India, Russia, and Serbia and demonstrated to the German people the global challenge they faced in the war. Such photographs aided the German propaganda campaign; the Germans argued that the Allies had to rely on man power from their subject colonies to support their war effort.

- British Indian Muslim troops prepare to slaughter three sheep for dinner at the Muslim camp kitchen in Zossen while French North African POWs watch the processing. Note the pile of potatoes in the background on the ground. Zossen-Wuensdorf was a propaganda camp in which Muslim prisoners enjoyed special privileges. The Germans planned to recruit Muslim POW's to fight for the Sultan in the jihad against the Allies.

- The commandant of the prison camp at Zossen-Wuensdorf speaks with a group of British Indian prisoners in the prison compound. Two of the camp barracks stand in the background amid a grove of trees. Zoseen-Wuensdorf was a propaganda camp designed as a recruitment tool for Muslim troops to fight in the Turkish Army.

- Ten Indian prisoners of war stand at attention outside of their barrack, probably at the prison camp at Zossen-Wuensdorf. These men came from the breadth of the Indian Empire and included both Hindus and Muslims. The Germans used photographs of these men to show the Germans that they were essentially fighting the world and to counter Allied propaganda that the Entente was fighting for democracy and freedom while utilizing subjugated colonial soldiers in their struggle.

- Imperial authorities continuously reminded the German people that they were fighting a war against the rest of the world and used photographs of colonial prisoners as prime examples. In this photo, Indian troops of the Indian Expeditionary Force stand outdoors at Muenster-Rennbahn. This propaganda campaign sought to encourage the Germans to fight harder to win the war and demonstrate the superiority of the empire's military forces.

- This is a bird's eye view of the prison camp at Zossen-Wuensdorf which showd Muslim prisoners standing in a circle, listening to the speaker standing on the platform in the middle of the compound. A group of German officers and several Turkish officers stand to the left of the speaker. This photograph may show a recruitment address to attract Muslim prisoners to volunteer to serve with the Turkish Army against the Allies.
