- Description:
- Image no. 36. A photograph showing the building known as the Sabin House, which was built by Walter D. Sabin sometime after 1878 and used as a private home until 1910. It then became the property of the Catholic Diocese of Detroit (later turned over to the Lansing Diocese), and a stucco addition to the north side of the building which included a chapel and nuns' rooms on the second and third floors was added in 1910. In 1934 a two-story brick Mediterranean-style addition was added on the west side. In the 1980s, it was redeveloped into several units and became known as the Old Convent Condominiums.
