The view also shows the east side of South Washington Avenue for the next several blocks to Arbaugh's at 401-425 South Washington Avenue. - Roy Jurgens and Henry Holtvluwer first opened this department store with a third partner in 1912. Their sons and namesakes opened the men's clothing store on Leonard N.W. in 1939. The sons opened other stores and subsequent generations of the family become involved in the business.
