Printed on verso: Detroit Yacht Club, Belle Isle. - This handsome home of the club was built in 1905 to replace their former home, destroyed by fire. It cost $20,000. The club is one of the largest on the great lakes, features sailing and maintains a fleet of 20 one-design cat-boats in which the members sail weekly in regattas. - Black and white photo of the christening of the race powerboat, MISS DETROIT V. The photo shows a starboard side bow view of the boat which has a painted deck and varnished topsides. A large crowd of spectators is standing on the dock in the background and a young girl is smashing a bottle of champagne at the bow of the boat. One man is standing near the girl and is holding a DYC (Detroit Yacht Club) burgee in his left hand. The photo may have been taken at the Detroit Yacht Club.
