- Fire damage to the interior of Koopsen's Paint and Wallpaper Company (also called Koopsen's Total Decorating Center) on the corner of Water Street and North Kalamazoo Mall, 222 N. Burdick. Damage includes a fallen ceiling grid, melted paint cans, and scorched paint and equipment. Koopsen's was opened by Albert Koopsen in 1935 and remained in its downtown location until its closing in 2002.
