- Russian Muslim prisoners display some of the fine handicrafts in the carpentry shop at Zossen-Wuensdorf. The prisoners have carved three street signs (two for Yorkstrasse and one for Lowenfeldstrasse) while a design hangs on the wall. Note the picture of Kaiser Wilhelm II on the back wall to the left.

- The stringed orchestra at Bautzen, composed of French and Russian musicians, performs outdoors for the prisoners. German soldiers are among the audience circling the orchestra. Note the white identification badge on the front of many of the prisoners' caps.

- Two British soldiers and a sailor stand outside of the YMCA Reading Room at Doeberitz. The photograph caption indicates that these men were members of the YMCA camp committee. The room is busy as several POW's look out the window at the photographer. Prisoners enjoyed the availability of books for entertainment and education.

- Representatives of the prisoners of war incarcerated at Goettingen stand in front of the new YMCA hall. The building is festively decorated with pine garlands for the inauguration and the Red Triangle symbol is mounted over the door.

- Former British, Russian, and German prisoners of war meet at Flushing in the Netherlands as they head home as part of a POW exchange program. Several of these men have received grevious wounds and would not be able to contribute to their nations' war efforts.

- French prisoners of war unload packages from a railroad freight car at the railroad station at Muensingen under the gaze of a German sentry. Packages from home and relief agencies supplemented the food supplies of Allied prisoners and made their incarceration more bearable.

- Russian prisoners clean and sweep the streets of a Polish town under the supervision of a Landsturm guard. The German occupation of tsarist towns led to improved sanitation and reconstruction employing prisoner labor.

- This water color painting depicts the post office at Muensingen. The post office afforded Allied POW's a link with the outside world as prisoners awaited word from home and loved ones through letters.
