- Charter establishing the General O.M. Poe Post No. 433 of the Michigan Department of the Grand Army of the Republic. The charter lists the names of 19 members of the post and is signed by the Department Commander William Shakespeare and Assistant Adjutant general C.V.R. Pond. The gold seal of the Michigan Department of the Grand Army of the Republic is affixed to the bottom. Military scenes are shown at each corner, and an image of an eagle surrounded by cannons and American flags is below the title. The text of the charter is as follows: "Grand Army of the Republic. To all unto whom these Presents shall come, Greeting: Know Ye, That reposing full trust and confidence in the fidelity and patriotism of Comrades 1 - Martin V.B. Lake 2. James Mc.C. Miller 3 - James Benton 4 - Berry B. Miller 5 - Arvis B. Culver 6 - B.S. Lawrence 7 - S. Jasnowski 8 - John T. McCurdy 9 - August Macker 10 - George W. Clements 11 - Augustus R. Sink 12 - S.C. Whiting 13 - C.F. Jones 14 - H.D. Lindsey 15 - R.W. Jacklin 16 - B.C. Brainard 17 - Charles Lumkin 18 - C.W. Peacock 19 - J.B. Myers I do hereby, in Conformity with the Rules and Regulations of the Grand Army of the Republic, and by virtue of the power and authority in me vested, constitute them and their associates and successors a Post of the Grand Army of the Republic, to be known as General O.M. Poe Post No. Four Hundred Thirty Three Department of Michigan And I authorize and empower them to perform all acts necessary to conduct said organization in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Grand Army of the Republic Dated at the Head Quarters of the Department of the Grand Army of the Republic at Lansing on the 16th day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Ninety Six and of our Independence the One hundred and twenty. - Certificate, mounted on linen, appointing Russell A. Alger to the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Grand Army of the Republic in 1889. The certificate is stamped with the seal of the Grand Army of the Republic on the lower left. The text of the certificate is as follows: "To whom it may concern Greeting: This Certifies that at the Twenty Third Annual National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic, held at Milwaukee Wisconsin on the Twenty-Eighth day of August 1889 Comrade R.A. Alger of Detroit Michigan was elected Commander-in-Chief of the National Encampment, to serve as such for one year from said date and until his successor is duly installed and he is hereby authorized and empowered to enter upon and perform the duties of said office in accordance with the Rules & Regulations of the Grand Army of the Republic. Dates at the Headquarters of the National Encampment G.A.R. at Milwaukee Wis. on the 28th day of August 1889. Eugene F. Weigel Adjutant General. Wm. Warner Commander in Chief."

- Newspaper; The Detroit Times Birthday Supplement and Grand Army Souvenir, published in 1891 and sold at a cost of 50 cents. The illustrated cover shows an American flag, several Civil War generals, the seal of the state of Michigan, and several men gathered around a camp fire. A quote printed on the cover at the bottom left reads "The only national debt we can never pay, is the debt of gratitude we owe our gallant volunteers, whose heroism, devotion, and self-sacrifice made freedom and self-government a reality, and preserved to use and our children an undivided country." - Scorecard, mounted on cardboard, for a Detroit Post 384 of the Michigan Grand Army of the Republic vs. the Associate Society Pedro Contest that took place January 4th to January 25th 1902. The scorecard indicates that a total of 250 games were played, of which the Detroit Post won 132 and the Associate Society won 118. The Detroit Post contestants are listed as T.P. Jones, C.W. O'Donnell, C.K. Brandon, G.T. Jack, R.B. Clark, B.F. Briscoe, G.H. Hopkins, and N. Woods. The Associate Society contestants are listed as O.E.C. Guelich, Geo. Morley, H.P. Cristy, C.P. Taylor, J.E. Saxton, H.M. Leonard, F.L. Albertsen, and F.H. Jerome.

In this photo, taken facing south on Woodward Avenue toward Congress Street, an arch decorated with a "Welcome" banner and American flags has been erected. Pedestrians, horse carriages, and horse-drawn streetcars are visible in the streets. On both sides of Woodward, signs for Mabley and Company are posted. The obelisk-topped arch at Jefferson and Woodward is visible in the background.

- Sepia-toned photo mounted on a black cabinet card with gold trim bearing an image taken during the 1891 National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic in Detroit. A triumphal arch topped with an obelisk is in the process of being erected on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Jefferson Avenue, as viewed facing south. The framework beneath its lower right corner is visible. The structure is decorated with Civil War scenes, including the battle between the ironclads, the Monitor and Merrimack, as well as cavalry scene. Eagles and stars are posted on each corner of the structure, and it is draped with garlands. A horse-drawn streetcar passes beneath it, and many horse buggies and wagons are stopped near it. On the right are a moonlight tower, and the building housing Hanshaw and Cohen, Signs and Clarke and Readon, Printers.
