- At right is the end of the Gladmer Theatre at 233 North Washington Avenue. Moving left, in the same building, Randall's Health Foods is at 231. Continuing south, Silver Lead Paint at 229, Western Auto Supply at 225, Emery-Pratt office equipment at 223, Epicure Tea Shop at 221, MacLaughlin Music at 219, National China at 213, and Firestone Tires at 211. The block ends with the Tussing building at West Ottawa Street, home of the Palms Theatre at 209 and the College Drugstore at 201. Buildings seen to the south include the Bank of Lansing at 101 North Washington Avenue, Prudden building on South Washington and West Michigan Avenue, and the Michigan National Tower at West Allegan Street and South Capitol Avenue. City Planning Division staff trimmed two photographs to make this composite view. City Planning Division staff placed sequential numbers at the bottom of each piece, "F34" and "F35" and added other annotations.

- Storefront windows of Grinnell Brothers Music at 206 Monroe Avenue NW selling pianos, band instruments, radios, and sheet music, but also, as featured in the windows, Norge appliances. Refrigerators, Stoves, and washing machines are displayed with cardboard cutouts of newsboys with an Extra edition of a newspaper advertising the convenience and value of Norge appliances.
