- Description:
- This collection consists primarily of a scrapbook belonging to Theodosia Wiest Milkton, the daughter of state Supreme Court judge Howard Wiest and Cora Newman Wiest. The scrapbook contains portraits of Theodosia and her family and friends, class pictures from the Walnut Street school, pictures from the art school she attended on the east coast, newspaper clippings (mostly about Judge Wiest), school programs and memorabilia, and other bits of glued in ephemera. The Wiests built a large home with several outbuildings that they named "Shagbark" in Williamston. The collection also contains a few folders of loose snapshots of Shagbark, unidentified people, an unidentified brick row house perhaps in Baltimore, and dogs.

- This collection contains materials collected by Alfred Seymour related to his career in the Detroit Police Department and Lansing Police Department. While in Detroit, he provided security services for the evangelist Billy Sunday at a revival meeting in Buffalo, New York, in about 1917. Materials related to this event are included, as are extensive materials about his activities with the International Chiefs of Police, including correspondence with and about J. Edgar Hoover of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. One collection highlight is Seymour's personal statement reporting his activities during the "Labor Holiday" in Lansing on July 7, 1937. A crowd threatened to attack his jail to break out eight persons held there for strike-related activities. Seymour describes his isolation after failing to obtain support from the Mayor of Lansing, the Michigan State Police, the Governor, prosecutors, and judges. The incident was ultimately resolved without bloodshed. Seymour also collected materials from his involvement with the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police. The collection includes newspaper clippings, photographs, memorabilia, and two personal scrapbooks.

- These records from the Greater Lansing Chamber of Commerce span the years 1913 to 1976, with the majority being from the 1960s. Most were the personal files of local realtor and Chamber board member Rollie Stebbins, with the exception of two scrapbooks for which the provenance is not known. Included are membership rosters, Board of Directors meeting packets, information on an annual conference at Tippy Dam, and annual folders which contain a mix of minutes, correspondence, meeting notices, partial membership lists, lists of prospective memberships, and other material. There are also two scrapbooks containing clippings of local and regional interest, about the Chamber and about government and other activities in the Lansing area, and some correspondence and other printed material produced by the Chamber itself. One scrapbook contains content dated 1913 to 1928; the other contains strictly newspaper clippings and dates from 1928 to 1935. For more information on the history of the Chamber of Commerce, see this link.

- Description:
- This is an artificial collection of Stockbridge local history materials assembled by library staff. There are several themes and types of materials within the collection. It is likely that more will be added. Themes represented in the collection include family histories, business history, church and cemetery information, general local history topics, the proposed Superconducting Supercollider (1980s), the Waterloo area, and some other regional history. Types of material include photocopied newspaper articles and documents, and some original clippings. There is a large group of area telephone directories from different publishers. Published family, church, and business histories, and newsletters of several area organizations are also in the collection. Some of the newspaper clippings come from scrapbooks that were kept by local individuals such as Mary Lessie Ramsdell Farrington (the Ramsdell Clippings and Scrapbook) or Casper W. Glenn (the Alaniz Clippings) on the theme of vital records or Stockbridge events and activities. These often have some type of index. Other clippings, such as those from the Town Crier, are organized chronologically and have no other index (Note that clippings from 2003 were not found.). There are a few maps and some local/state government reports and studies in the collection as well.
