The present work is a reprint of v. 2, omitting the states in rebellion, while the chapters on Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri are followed by new sections with title "The times of the rebellion in Kentucky" [etc.] A new edition was published 1867, with title "All the western states and territories, from the Alleghanies to the Pacific and from the Lakes to the Gulf." The sections relating to the rebellion, omitted from this edition, were published separately, Cincinnati, 1867, with title: The times of the rebellion in the West ...
