- Located at 3426 Cedar Street South. Everett Elementary was orginally built in the 1850s and was named for Arthur Everett. An addition was made in the 1890s but demolished in 1960 and in 1923 and 1934 more additions were introduced. A new gym was built in 1937 and a lower floor in 1939. An extra upper floor was built in 1947 before being annexed to Lansing Schools in 1950. They operated within the high school buildings for a time.

- Children seated at desks. East Park School was built in 1916 to replace a two-room school on Lesher Place on the east side of what was then called East Park. The park's name changed to Oak Park in 1926, and the school name changed then to go along.

- Behind the tree in this photograph is the newer Willow Street School that was constructed in 1952, while the original 1915 building is at right. It is likely this photograph is of the beginnings of demolition of the old building which was vacated in 1961. Originally part of the Carl Dalrymple Collection.

- Children are sitting at desks. Some read from primer books and others are doing a craft. A teacher stands in the back helping students. There were 16 slides in a box labeled "Franklin-Larch." Nothing on the individual slides distinguishes which images were taken at which school. Franklin Avenue School was located at 1100 East Franklin Avenue (later Grand River Avenue). The Larch Street School was in the 100 block of North Larch Street.
