Boys team receiving trophy. According to local sports researcher Bob Schichtel this picture was featured in the Grand Rapids Herald. According to the Herald these are the smiling members of the St. James sixth grade quintet as Jack Young, director of the Catholic School League, presented them a trophy for winning the American Association tournament and a plaque for a regular season first place finish. Pictured left to right, Bob Kelly, Young, captain Jerry Jurewicz, Jim Jakubowski, Dino DiGrondi, Tom Stevens, Tom Jewell and Bob Poggi. In the back row are Rev. Frank Karl, Coach Bernie Buzalski, Larry Romberg, Don Cook and Leo Bott.
