Toilet Bottle; Fayoum; Glass vessels; Glass; undecorated

Description:

Colorless glass vessel with rectangular body rests on squared base. Cylindrical neck rises above irregularly sloped shoulders. Neck rim was ground flat. Fabric is cloudy, covered with patches of enamel and iridescence. A large U-shaped crack exists from one side to it s opposite side. A large sandy pebble formed inside this vessel at some time during its burial & is still trapped inside, & rattles when the vessel is moved. Free blown and tooled in translucent almost colorless glass with greenish-gray tinge.
