- The Western Knitting Mills factory was built in 1896 and produced knitted goods until 1939. The building was later owned by the McAleer Manufacturing Company, later known as the Higbie Manufacturing Company, and then ITT Higbie. In 1994 the Rochester Mills Beer Company restored the building and it now operates as a restaurant and brewery. (RRP-313) Ray Russell Postcard Collection

- A crowd in front of the Western Knitting Mills, now the Rochester Mills Beer Company, located on Water Street. Although many mills have stood at this location, the building we see today was built in 1891. Originally known as the Western Knitting Mill, the building was used for many things, including making khaki gloves during World War I and refrigeration tubes during the 1940s.
