- An unidentified man in a top hat and a long coat, with a Lansing Centennial souvenir ribbon at his collar and a centennial button on his lapel. Behind him can be seen part of the S. G. Kresge store and City Hall (in the process of being dismantled). A kiosk with advertising for the College Rexall Drugs in East Lansing is also visible; there was a branch of this drug store chain on South Washington Street in downtown Lansing as well. The photograph was taken on Capitol Avenue in Lansing. Originally part of the Carl Dalrymple Collection. Image has been partially hand tinted.

- A marching band in the Oldsmobile Parade down Washington Avenue, part of a three-day salute to Oldsmobile in Lansing. Signs for the LaBelle Lodge and Plaza hotels, Roy's Steak House, Mark's Jewelry and Luggage, the Charcoal Gallery restaurant, and Vandervoort's Hardware are all visible. All of Lansing's high school marching bands were represented in this parade.

- Possibly a parade or gathering for the centennial of the American Revolution in 1875 or 1876, based on the decorations of the drug store building in the center of the photograph.
