Guide Map of the City of Detroit

Description:

One map entitled "Guide Map of the City of Detroit." The map is printed in black ink on white paper and shows streets, street names, churches, ward numbers and boundaries, city boundaries, streetcar lines, and railroad lines. An alphabetical list of street names is also shown along with a list of fire alarm box numbers and locations. In addition, the names of former ribbon farm owners are shown along the top of the map area. The map was "Published by S. Farmer & Co., 35 Monroe Ave., corner Farmer St., Detroit, Mich." The map was drawn by Eugene Robinson, City Surveyor, at a scale of 1 inch = 900 feet and is dated 1863. Separate from the map is the accompanying blue hard-cover entitled "Guide Map of the City of Detroit. Published By Silas Farmer & Co. Municipal Edition".
