Description:
One "Map of Detroit" with separate red paper cover. The map is printed in black, red, green, and blue ink on white paper and shows streets, street names, railroad lines, streetcar lines, parks, and cemeteries within the city limits. In addition, the names of former ribbon farm owners (with private claim numbers) are shown along the shoreline of the Detroit River. An advertisement for "Boydell Bros. White Lead and Color Co." is shown in the upper right corner of the sheet. The map was "Published by Silas Farmer & Co., 31 Monroe Avenue, cor. Farmer Street, Detroit, Mich." at an approximate scale of 1 inch = 0.5 miles and was dated 1897. There is an advertisement for Boydell Bros., White Lead and Color Co., on the back cover.
