This may have been part of the Lansing Centennial of Transportation parade in May 1959 or another of the city's centennial parades that happened that year. - The Christman Company established its Lansing offices at the Porter Hotel in 1919, and constructed this local headquarters building in 1927, intentionally with space to lease to other businesses such as Nehi. When Henry G. Christman died in 1933, the company became known as The Christman Company, Inc. Located in the 400 block of Kalamazoo Plaza (off River Street near Kalamazoo Avenue). The Kalamazoo Avenue bridge can be seen in the background. This photograph dates from between 1927 and 1933.

Left to right in the photograph are: The Bauch building (10+ floors, 115 West Allegan); Union Building and Loan Association (119-121 West Allegan); the Jones building (123 West Allegan) which was also home to both Jones families; the Stratton Insurance agency (125 West Allegan); and the Industrial Bank (127-131 West Allegan).
