- Description:
- Black and white photograph taken overlooking work to convert building "B" of the Ford River Rouge Factory Complex from manufacture of Eagle Boats to that of automobiles. The strip at the center of the photo, in one of the inner aisles of the building, has been mostly filled with dirt, and regularly spaced wooden forms holding concrete slabs with lengths of rebar sticking out. Piles of wood and dirt run along the length of the strip. Workers have climb ladders up to the trusses that run between the building's columns. A worker is at the controls of the overhead crane in the adjacent aisle on the right. "26787-5-27-19," is printed in the lower right corner of the recto, and "Laying assembly-line track in 'B' bldg (27 May 1918)," is handwritten on the verso. The photo is mounted on a linen backing.

- Sepia-toned photograph of workers beginning to attach plates to the side of Eagle Boat No. 45 within building "B" of the Ford River Rouge Factory Complex, as taken from above its starboard bow. A single piece of plate near the bow, and a wooden brace running the length of the boat have been installed. Workers are on ladders and boards spanning the tops of the framing pieces. A large piece of plating leans against a column on the right. Shelves and crates of materials, and a tool crib are visible in the adjacent aisle to the right."#45 1:46 P.M. 25860-2-20-19," is printed in the lower left corner of the recto. - One sepia-toned photograph of the sidewheel passenger steamship, SS Seeandbee, being launched sideways at the Detroit Dry Dock Company. The photo shows a starboard side stern view of the hull as it slides off the ways and creates a large splash of water along the starboard side. Carpentry work for main deck cabin areas has been roughed in, but the upper decks and cabin structures have not yet been started. Many workmen are standing along the taffrail of the ship and a large crowd of onlookers can be seen on the dock in the foreground. A gantry crane trestle is visible in the background area of the shipyard. Also, a tugboat is standing by just beyond the bow of the newly-launched ship. Handwritten pencil text on the verso shows "Seeandbee launch Nov. 9, 1912."

- Sepia-toned photograph depicting rows of Eagle Boat turbine engines and components staged on the floor of the Ford Highland Park Factory, as taken from above. Milling machines line both walls of the long narrow room. These engines were manufactured for Ford's Eagle Boats being produced at Ford's River Rouge Complex. The engines produced 2,500 hp. Seventy-five engines were completed with parts enough for 15 more. Lower right hand corner show number and date of photo: 23420-10-21-18. Photo mounted on a linen backing.

- One sepia-toned photograph of the tugboat, Zenith, controlling the aft end of a bulk cargo freighter (name unreadable) which appears to have a bent gunwale at the transom. Another tugboat is towing at the bow of the freighter. The three vessels are underway in fair weather on a river. The photographer has signed the photo, "C.T. Benham, '06," in the lower right corner. A blue ink stamp on the verso shows "C.T. Benham" and handwritten pencil text shows "Tug Zenith."
