An isometric view of the laboratory of Frederick Stearns and Company is at the top. At the bottom left is a "view in Grand Circus Park." A woman stands in the path leading to the fountain. Another woman and child sit on the bench to her right. More people are visible in the background behind the fountain. The Palms Building is pictured in the lower left frame. Pedestrians walk along the sidewalk outside of it, while a streetcar pulled by a horse with a rather wide gait, speeds past.

Printed on verso: The Pingree Monument in West Grand Circus Park, was erected in 1904 by popular subscription. The late Hazen S. Pingree was four times Mayor of Detroit, and twice Governor of Michigan. He died June 18th, 1901, aged 60 years. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Feb 27, 1914.

- Booklet containing the Ninth Annual Report of the Commissioners of Parks and Boulevards to the Common Council of the City of Detroit from July 1, 1897 to June 30, 1898. The report contains information concerning the physical and financial states of various Detroit parks, including Belle Isle, Clark Park, Palmer Park, and Grand Circus Park, in addition to photographs and illustrations of scenes from various parks. This particular copy contains an insert affixed to the title page reading "To David Parsons: Compliments of... Edw. C. Van Lewyen. Commissioner."

Printed on verso: In Detroit Life is Worth Living. This floral display is located in East Grand Circus Park, the oldest of Detroit's breathing grounds, is situated almost in the center of the city's retail district. Magnificent shade trees are everywhere, real monarchs of the forest that started to grow even before a white man set his foot on what is now the State of Michigan. The Park was set aside in 1854 under the general redistricting of the city. In the foreground Detroit's slogan is brought out very prominently in beautifully colored foliage.
