Soldiers and Sailors Monument built in 1881 at a cost of $70,000. The red building at right is the Hammond Building. The electric sign on top of building is one of the finest in the west and when in action gives a description of the famous Chariot Race of Ben Hur. - Menu for Thanksgiving dinner at the Hotel Normandie in 1891. The menu is bound in light blue crush embossed paper with a white ribbon and orange wax seal emblazoned with "HN, Detroit" affixed to the cover, and was printed by Winn and Hammond of Detroit. Six pages are contained within. "Thanks Giving 1891," is printed on the third on a green background. A menu is spread across the fourth and fifth pages, listing a variety of dishes ranging from the traditional like stuffed young turkey and sweet potatoes, to stuffed mallard with jelly and fresh lobster. The menu is decorated with small green illustrations of a turkey, a stylized fish, and ten cartoonish characters seated on a long bench eating. "Carr and Reeve" is printed on the last page above a green illustration of a bunch of flowers with their stems wrapped in a ribbon.

- Description:
- Menu for the Sixteenth Annual banquet of the Michigan Commandery Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, held on Thursday May 3, 1900 at the Russell House. The menu consists of three leafs of half-folded beige paper bound between a half-folded cardstock cover with striped red, white, and blue ribbon. An engraving of a soldier sounding a bugle as the sun rises over a military encampment is on the cover, beside the a red, blue and gold, embossed image of a Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States membership medal. In addition to meal options, the menu contains a program of pieces to be performed by the Russell House Orchestra under the direction of Professor Van Amburgh, a series of toasts, and the Roll of Officers for 1899-1900. The hotel's crest is embossed in gold and green on the back cover.

- Supper menu card from the Hotel Pontchartrain, dated Monday, February 13, 1918. The recto lists oysters, hors d'oeuvres, soups, fish, chafing dish specialties, special selections, cold meats, salads, and desserts. The verso declares that the hotel is a member of the United States Food Administration, and urges the conservation of food for the war effort. Additionally, a disclaimer on the verso cautions that the management declines responsibility to damage to clothing caused by accidents in the dining room.

Printed on verso: The Hotel Pontchartrain. Detroit's largest and best hotel, is beautifully situated on the Campus. It is fifteen stories high with three stories underground. This hotel was opened to the public in October, 1907, and is strictly fireproof. It is a marvel of convenience, the underground portion being most important for the comfort of the guests. Over five million pounds of steel were used in its construction. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Jul 20, 1912.

The card is printed on off-white paper printed with a cross-stitch inspired pattern of heraldic lions rampant, and fleurs–de–lis. And embossed silver griffon is printed in the upper right corner. The years, "1864," "1874," and "1894" are printed at the edges of the card.

- Menu with envelope from the opening dinner of the Hotel Pontchartrain held on Tuesday, October 29, 1907. The menu is bound with whit ribbon in a heavy white paper cover printed with an embossed image of the hotel's crest on the front. Both the dinner's courses, as well as a reproduction of a menu for a dinner given by Madame la Chancelière for King Louis XIII at the château de Pontchartrain are printed within. The envelope is pale blue with an image of the hotel's crest at the upper left.

The menu consists of two half-folded sheets of paper bound inside of a burgundy cardstock cover with white ribbon. The Iota Chapter of Gamma Delta Psi logo is printed on the cover in silver. The menu and a list of toasts are contained within. The booklet was printed at W.A. Sturgeon and Company in Detroit.
