- Bank note No. 788 from "The Detroit City Bank" for $5.00 and dated December 20, 1837. The note is printed in black ink on thin linen paper and shows the Roman numeral, "V," in all four corners. An engraved view of the Detroit shoreline is shown at the top of the note. The note is signed "F. H. Harris, Cashier," on the lower left edge and is signed "H. M. Campbell, President," on the lower right edge. The reverse is blank except for handwritten text that shows, "Presented to Emma S. Hampton, President Fairbanks Corps No. 17. December 1884 by James W. Romeyn."

The drawing is inspired by the painting, Detroit as Seen from the Canadian Shore in 1821, by Alexander Macomb. Below, another long panel depicts a north-facing view of Woodward Avenue, extending from Campus Martius. Shops on the corner of Michigan Avenue, and Woodward Avenue, including Hudson and Symington are depicted. The Opera House is also pictured, housing J.L. Hudson's. An optician, Hull Brothers Family Groceries, and Chas. A. Werner Glassware are depicted as well. Several moonlight towers are visible in the distance. Harper Hospital is in the topmost of the three panels, arranged vertically on the far right. - Monochromatic glass plate negative taken of the remains of the original Belle Isle Bridge after it burned on April 27, 1915, as viewed from Belle Isle to the west of the bridge, facing the mainland. Four of the bridges piers are visible along the river, no longer bearing the bridge. Closer to the shore, part of one of the spans has collapsed into the water. In the background, along the riverfront, the roller coasters and pavilions of Electric Park, are visible, as is the Philip Kling Brewing Company, and a sign for Stegmeyer's ferry.

Immense freighters bearing their loads of ore, grain, coal, lumber and general merchandise are constantly in sight and this, added to the passenger steamers and ferry boats, makes the river front one of the most interesting points of the city.
