A series of automobiles are parked against the curb, and are visible in the foreground, and on the south side of Woodward. Hudson's Men's Store is adjacent to the on-going construction of, "Another 10 Story Building, HUDSON'S." Kern's Department Store is visible in the background. The name of the photography studio, their geographic location, and the photographic sequence number are printed on the bottom of the recto, "Manning Bros., Detroit, 53326." The date is hand-written on the verso, "5-4-23."

- Print. Black and white photographic print of the façade of The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store located at the corner of Woodward and Gratiot Avenues. The image, taken from an elevated view, features Hudson's as well as neighboring retailer, Himelhoch's. Signage affixed to the façade of Hudson's reads, "Buy Victory Loan Bonds Until We Cancel It!" Several pedestrians are visible on the street corner. Automobiles are visible parked along the curb in front of the retailer. Herbst Clothing neighbors Hudson's on the southeast side of the building; American flags are visible affixed to the facade. The name of the photography studio, and geographic location are embossed on the bottom of the recto, "Manning Bros., Detroit." Also, the date is hand-written on the verso, "4-18-19."

- Print. A sepia-toned composite photograph of Mabley and Company, located on Woodward Avenue, mounted on cardboard. The left and right side images are of the facades of Mabley and Company locations on the east side and west side of Woodward Avenue; pedestrians and horse carriages neighbor the structure in either image. The central image depicts the thoroughfare of Woodward Avenue populated by streetcars and horse carriages. Printed at the top center of the recto reads, "Mabley & Company." Also, printed along the bottom edge of the recto reads, "Bazaar and Shoe House. Woodward Ave. Clothing and Furniture House." Text printed on the verso reads, "This photograph is one of a series of exterior and interior views of the 62 departments included in Mabley & Company's 15 Stores, located in Detroit, Michigan , as follows: 122, 124, 126, 128, 130, 132 & 134 Woodward Avenue, East Side, 121, 123, 125,m 127 & 129 Woodward Avenue West Side. Levy and Sons Fish, Oysters and Game walks past the Taylor Woolfenden and Company, as well as R.H. Traver. Pedestrians are visible crossing the thoroughfare as well as walking along the sidewalk. The facades of the neighboring merchants are heavily ornamented with red, white and blue fabrics, as well as portraits of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S. Grant.

Many retailers align the thoroughfare include Queen Anne Soap, MacKenzie Furnishings, the Avenue Theatre, Rayl's Hardward, and the Pontchartrain Hotel which is visible in the central background.
