- Cookbook from the Detroit Stove Works promoting Jewel Stoves and Ranges. The book's cover is made of black cardboard and has an image of a woman in a dress hat, holding a book, against a background of a square with gray borders and a red interior on it. Printing of the cookbook is attributed to John F. Eby and Company of Detroit. The words "Cooking By Gas; Detroit Stove Works; Detroit - Chicago" are on the cover. Contained within are recipes designed to be made using gas stoves and advertisements for Jewel Stoves and Ranges.

- One navigational chart entitled, "Preliminary Chart of Eagle Harbor, Lake Superior." The chart was "Surveyed and drawn under the direction of Capt. J. N. Macomb, Topl. Engrs. [Topographical Engineers] by Lieut. W. F. Raynolds, Topl Engrs., Assisted by J. U. Mueller, D. F. Henry, and J. Wallace, 1855" with "Aids to navigation corrected to February 29, 1889." The chart was drawn at a scale of 1:5,000 and covers about 2 miles of the shoreline along Lake Superior in the vicinity of Eagle Harbor, Michigan. The town of Eagle Harbor is shown along with an inset drawing that shows the approach to the harbor. The chart includes information such as soundings in feet, lake bottom characteristics, lighthouses, roads, and sailing directions. The chart was printed in black ink on white paper and was published by the Topographical Bureau of the War Department (later known as the Army Corps of Engineers). Small printed text in the lower left corner shows "Drawn for engraving by Lt. O. M. Poe, Topl. Engrs. and H. Gillman." Small printed text in the right corner shows "Engraved by W. H. Dougal."

- Sepia-toned portrait photo of Jacob Guthard of Company H of the 9th Michigan Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the Civil War, housed inside a beige cardstock folder. Guthard is pictured in a reversed oval-shaped half length portrait wearing a Union army jacket, an eagle shoulder breast sling plate, and kepi hat with an "H" insignia pin holding his rifle. The folder's cover bears an embossed image of a coat of arms, and the handwritten note, "Company H 9th Michigan; Volunteer Infantry; Aug 1861; Jacob Guthard." "Picture of Jacob Guthard who enlisted in the Co. 14. 9th Michigan; Volunteer Infantry Aug. 1861 - at the age of sixteen years. Property of Mrs. W. J. Strudley 3019 McClellan Ave. Detroit" is handwritten on the back cover.

- The Merchants and Manufacturers Exchange organization roster. This page is printed in black ink on white paper and appears to have been torn from a membership roster. The front side shows the name of the organization, names of past presidents, and names of actuaries. The bottom portion shows the names of company presidents and the secretary for The Detroit Manufacturers Club. The verso shows the names of Exchange officers as well as the names of the board of directors and various committees. This roster was included in an envelope along with a 2-page letter that was written by Orrin R. Baldwin. He was the president of the American Harrow Company as well as the president of the Merchants and Manufacturers Exchange.

- Mounted sepia-toned photograph taken of three firefighters of Engine Company No. 2 seated on their horse-drawn fire engine, as taken from off of its right side, with the horses out of frame. They are posed in front of the large, closed bay doors of a fire station. The photo is mounted on black mat board. "From Alvord and Company, Com'l Photographers, 45 Rowland St., Detroit, Mich." is stamped on the verso, "Engine 2," and "St. Antoine and E. Larned," are handwritten on the verso, and "Steam Fire engine No. 2, placed in service January 7, 1861," is printed on a slip to paper taped to the verso.
